About Us
Arel College founded in the 1990-1991 school year has expanded its area of education with Arel Preschool, Arel Primary School, Arel Anatolian High School, Arel Science High School and Arel Sports and Culture Complex. After 26 years of educational excellence, Arel Educational Institutions has grown to offer higher education by founding Istanbul Arel University.

Istanbul Arel University was founded by the Kemal Gözükara Education and Culture Foundation in accordance with the Law No. 2809/5656-Annex.76 dated 9 May, 2007 published in the Official Gazette No. 26526 dated 18 May, 2007.

Istanbul Arel University has 6 Faculties; Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Faculty of Engineering and Architecture, Faculty of Communication, Faculty of Economic and Administrative Sciences, Faculty of Fine Arts and Faculty of Medicine, 3 Schools; School of Health Sciences, School of Applied Sciences, School of Foreign Languages, 3 Institutes (graduate and distance education master’s programmes); Institute of Sciences, Institute of Social Sciences and Institute of Health Sciences and 1 Vocational School.

Premises

Istanbul Arel University has 2 campuses and 1 sports and culture complex.

1. Tepekent Campus is located in Tepekent Satellite Town, on the west side of Büyükçekmece Lake. The Campus consists of a closed area of total 65.000 m2 and includes faculties and schools that provide four-year education.

Within the Tepekent Campus, there are;

  • 300 smart classrooms and lecture halls at different capacities designed in the way that education can be provided for 15.000 students at the same time,
  • 4.000 m2 engineering labs
  • 2000 m2 library and knowledge sources
  • 1500 m2 Conference and Theatre Hall for 900 people
  • Wireless Internet within the campus
  • 3000 m2 cafeteria
  • 2000 m2 indoor and terrace dining halls
  • Indoor semi-olympic swimming pool

The 400,000 m2 open recreation area located within the Tepekent Campus has been planned as a large complex offering activities of culture, art, sport, entertainment and relaxation. Within the scope of the project that has started on an area of 400,000 m2, there will be;

  • Open-air theatre for 5.000 people
  • 2 outdoor olympic pools
  • 70x105m football field
  • 5 football turf pitches
  • 15 basketball courts
  • 10 tennis courts
  • 2 beach volley fields
  • 1 mini golf court
  • Cafeteria for 3.000 people
  • 8 km walking-running tracks
  • Car park for 3.000 vehicles
  • Ponds, playgrounds, fitness areas, camellias and picnic areas


2. Sefaköy Campus is located on the European side of Istanbul, within the borders of Küçükçekmece/Sefaköy district, on a central location on the E-5 Main Road. The Campus includes Vocational School that provides two year education and Institutes that offer graduate programmes.

Within the Sefaköy Campus, there are;

  • 80 smart classrooms, each having capacity of 40 students

3. Yenibosna Sports and Culture Complex
Within Yenibosna Sports and Culture Complex that consists of a closed area of 10.000 m2 and is located near Sefaköy Campus, there are;

  • An indoor semi-olympic swimming pool,
  • A multi-purpose hall for basketball, volleyball, tennis and handball, with a capacity of 600 people,
  • Sport halls for step and apparatus work,
  • A conference/theatre hall and a foyer area for 1200 people with an exhibition hall and a cafeteria.
