We live in an age when visuality becomes the center of the life. Especially, it has been observed that city people are in incredible visual complexity. Riot of visual surrounding our lives in ordinary daily life usually become natural extensions of our soul and our emotions flow by transforming as ordinary sections of our lives without a splash of our consciousness.
On the other hand, today when mass communication are so nubile, it has been observed the significant section of communicative activity at human and social life is formatted by visual icons, and images. In other words the age we live in should be defined not only communication and information age but also as the age of a visual icon and images. This visual icon and images age is formatted by visual communication devices such as especially cinema and television.
In a world visual and visual communication are so important training the individuals have visual communicative skills and advanced visual aesthetic sensitivity is determined as a priority task of the department.
At Department of Visual Communication Design visual communication skills, aesthetic sensitivity and the perception ability of students is aimed to develop with graphic design and visual design classes.
Students who graduate from the Department of Visual Communication Design have the advantage of getting a job in almost all areas of the media industry. It is known there is a great need for trained people in the area such as published and virtual environment newspapers and magazines design, assembly and editing units at television channels Internet journalism. In addition, it is observed that a great need for qualified staff in advertising, promotional and fashion design sector has the rapidly expanding volume of business and employment.
In short, both in design and visual communication and media sector, as well as other related sectors, the ever-expanding volume of business and employment demonstrates the importance of Department of Visual Communication Design in terms of both mission and vision.
