Istanbul Arel University was founded on 18th May, 2007 by “Kemal Gözükara Education and Culture Foundation”.
Our University has 5 Faculties as Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Faculty of Engineering and Architecture, Faculty of Communication, Faculty of Economic and Administrative Sciences, Faculty of Fine Arts; 3 Schools as School of Health Sciences, School of Applied Sciences, School of Foreign Languages; 1 Vocational School; and 2 Institutes as Institute of Sciences and Institute of Social Sciences.
Istanbul Arel University graduated its students firstly in 2008-2009 academic year, and has 6.000 students in 2010-2011 academic year.
Istanbul Arel University has 2 campuses.
TEPEKENT CAMPUS
Tepekent Campus is located in Tepekent Satellite Town, on the west side of Büyükçekmece Lake. Tepekent Campus consists of a closed area of total 65.000 m2 and includes Faculties and Schools that provide four-years education.
Within the Tepekent Campus, there are;
- 300 Smart Classrooms which are designed in the way that education service can be provided for 7500 students at the same time, and Lecture Halls at different capacities
- 3000 m2 Engineering Labs
- 2000 m2 Library and Knowledge Sources Center
- 1500 m2 Conference and Theater Hall for 900 people
- Wireless Internet within the campus
- 3000 m2 Cafeteria
- 2000 m2 indoor and terrrace Dining Halls
- Indoor olympic Swimming Pool
- Indoor olympic Courts for basketball, volleyball, tennis, handball
- Health and Fitness Center, Squash Hall, Turkish Bath, Sauna

The 400,000 m2 open recreation area located within the Tepekent Campus of Istanbul Arel University, has been planned as a large complex within which activities of culture, art, sport, entertainment and relaxation will exist together. Within the scope of the project that has started to be carried out on the area of 400,000 m2, there will be;
- Open-air Theatre for 5.000 people
- 2 outdoor Olympic Pools
- 70x105m Football Field
- 5 Football Astro Pitches
- 15 Basketball Courts
- 10 Tennis Courts
- 2 Beach Volley Fields
- 1 Mini Golf Court

SEFAKÖY CAMPUS
Istanbul Arel University Sefaköy Campus is located on the European side of Istanbul, within the borders of Küçükçekmece/Sefaköy district from which it took its name from. It’s on a central location on the E-5 Main Road. Within the Sefaköy Campus, there are Vocational School and Graduate School programs.
Within the Sefaköy Campus, there are;
- 80 Smart Classrooms, each having capacity for 40 students

- Stitching, Drawing and Engineering Ateliers
- 6 Computer Labs

Mission
Istanbul Arel University aims to;
- Provide a well-qualified, professional and outstanding university education,
- Contribute to the social and economic development of Turkey,
- Improve education oppurtunities with the help of all its academic and administrative personnel,
- Ensure students’ learning and success at associate, undergraduate and graduate levels
- Provide education oppurtunities for the successful students who have financial difficulties,
- Increase the capacity for researches and scholarships both in Turkey and at international level, in order to meet the educational, economic, social and cultural requirements of Turkey,
- Be a university that has established an international and global research network and carries out joint projects with international well-known universities through this network.
Vision
Istanbul Arel University has adopted as a principle to provide its students with a modern higher education at international academic standarts, since this is the basic way to ensure that our country earns the reputation it deserves among world countries. Istanbul Arel University aims to raise individuals who are devoted to principles and reforms of Atatürk; believe in existence of Republic of Turkey as a secular, democratic and social law state; who research, think globally, respect universal values; and who are adhered to national values and open to scientific, technologic developments.
