In the new millennium, public relations and advertising sectors have been gaining importance and consequently the need for highly specialized and competent professionals in this field has been increasing. Aim of Department of Public Relations and Advertising is to train public relations specialists and advertisers who are qualified to meet the nonstable expectations of private and corporate establishments; have academical and practical knowledge and experience in the field; are creative and responsible; have managerial qualities and proficiency in use of computers. In accordance with this aim, scientific and technological developments are followed closely and combined with the content of courses while also taking cognizance of sector requirements.
In the Department, students are provided with a strong theoretical basis in the field in addition to application studies and specialized courses on subjects like public relations and advertisement writing, graphic design, public relations plannings and applications, public relations and political campaigns, strategic public relations, public relations on internet, layout and applications of advertising, advertising campaign, integrated marketing communication, media and public opinion, public opinion researches, brand management. Students also obtain information about related areas such as social psychology, human resources, business administration, statistics, communication law. It’s aimed to enable the students to evaluate and manage their profession in all its aspects.
