Within the “grace period”, the user can return the material without paying overdue fine or can extend the loan period. Otherwise, starting from the 4th day following the due date, the user is required to pay an overdue fine for each day also including the three-day “grace period”.

Loan Period Extension

If the loaned material is not reserved by another user, loan period of the material can be extended before the due date by application to the Library’s Loans Desk or via the “My Library Account” section of the Library’s web page. After the due date, loan period of the material can only be extended by bringing the material to the Library.

Users can request “hold” for materials (except for DVDs) currently loaned by other users, to reserve those materials. When the material is returned to the Library, the user that requested “hold” for the material receives an e-mail indicating that s/he can loan the material from the Library’s Loans Desk. Loan period can not be extended for a loaned material that receives “hold” request from another user.

The Library can “recall” loaned materials before their due date for reserves. The user is required to return the recalled material within 72 hours. Otherwise, s/he will be required to pay an overdue fine of 2,50 TL for each day following the 72 hours.
