Introduction to mathematical technics in computer engineering and computer science. Mathematical logic, induction, set theory, relations, functions, graphs, trees and matching.


6MMFTBA003 - Engineering Orientation

This course includes the basic concepts of enginnering, problem solving techniques, communication skills, interaction among the enginnering disciplines, national and international unit systems and subjects of basic engineering areas.

Contemporary theories and approaches about thinking towards induction and deduction methods, ways of critical assessment, ways of critical evaluation, the relationships between creativeness and innovation, the application of innovation and using innovation as a core competence for entrepreneurship are taught in this class.


6UYDCKI001 - Environmental Protection, Occupational Health and Safety

This course covers the topics such as preventing the deterioration and destruction of the environmental values and ecological balance, repairing the existing distortions, basic information to prevent environmental pollution, historical development and importance of work safety, general view of work safety in our country and occupational health and safety legislation, rules of work safety, sources of hazards, determination of hazards, risk assessment, control of risks, occupational diseases, occupational accidents, physical, chemical, biological, and psychological factors in terms of the effects on worker's health.

In the field of individual labor law, the following topics are discussed and explained: the definition of a contract of employment, its types, obligations imposed on the parties, termination, working hours, rest break, paid holidays, annual leave pay as well as the subject of labor law, the birth of labor law, the development of labor law in the world and in Turkey, the basic concepts of business law. In the field of collective labor law, the following topics are discussed and explained: trade unions, collective bargaining, the concept of strikes and lockouts, legal arrangements for resolution of collective labor disputes. Under the social security law, the following topics are discussed and explained: the concept of social security, its historical development, mandatory social security agencies in Turkey and their scopes, definition of insurance branches, their scopes, and benefits provided to the insured and his/her family members.

The aims of this module are: To give students a good understanding of basic concepts of object-oriented program design; introduce them to the fundamental principles of abstraction, modularity and reusability; and illustrate object diagrams as a basic object-oriented design and modelling technique. To teach and enable students to develop object-oriented programming skills within the Java language; to enable students to develop object-oriented Java program solutions to small application problems. To help students gain a good understanding of, and ability to use, abstract data types; familiarise students with common abstract data types and associated operations.
